[HackTheBox] Beep

This is the most useless box

Reconnaissance reveals a lot of useless stuff. I am not gonna even bother to put that out here. I went back and checked though. Each one of those services were patched.

One look at the webpage was all it took to root XD.

Public CVE worked for this.

Got a password which was apparently repeating all over.

So I tried this password with the “fanis” user I found from the /etc/passwd file but that didn’t work. So I tried to login as every entry in /etc/passwd which had /bin/bash as their default shell.

I kept going up the list and struck gold at root.

Boring.

This box is mainly made to cause chaos and disruption in one’s mind due to so many services out there.
